All You Want

I wrote All You Want about someone who I had feelings for
And who had feelings for me
But was still in a relationship with someone else
It was my way of convincing him to leave her
We dated soon after I showed him the song
It didn't end well
A pet peeve of mine is when people purposefully bottle things up
To me music is an emotional outlet
I write to sort my thoughts out
And I sing to scream it out into the world
I would always say that my music is a jounral entry with a melody
I had a lot of different emotions when I wrote All You Want
I was frustrated, angry, scared, hurt, and lonely
I wanted so badly to be loved
The person I wrote this about is also a musician
So I like to think songs hit harder that way
Because he knows all the work that goes into a song
Sometimes I think songwriters are the worst type of creatives
Singer songwriters are so petty!
If we get hurt we will sing about it
And we'll be Very specific about it
There are plenty of us who will put ourselves in shitty situations
Because at least we'll get a song out of it
The only way for us to get our emotions out
Is to yell in a catchy tune
But what's nice about being a songwriter is that
You can hear exactly what you were feeling in that point in time
I take the hurt I feel
And I create something beautiful
That's the magic of songwriting
When I hear this song
I remember the pain I felt
And I'm so glad that it's over
